
Today is international women’s day! This is an event that has been traced back to the 1900’s and will be celebrated for centuries to come! Whether you are a woman yourself or have an amazing lady you want to show some extra love to, everyone can participate in this event! We would like to give a few shout outs to some amazing women in our lives that have helped mold us to the people we are today!
First on the list is my amazing mother. My mother has been a single mother most of my brother and my lives and has never once let us think we couldn’t have something, be something or do something we wanted. We were not rich by any stretch of the imagination but the funny part is we never knew it. My mother taught us to appreciate everything we had and give back to those who had less. We would volunteer, donate and support several members of our community and this is why giving back is so important to me. Thanks Mom!
Next, is another amazing mother, Lucas’s mom! Let’s just start off by saying I’m pretty sure this woman is a genius. She taught her children from a young age to take every opportunity and try their hardest to succeed. Lucas tells me he looks up to the way she perseveres through tough times and always seems to make the best of every situation. He said the best lesson she ever taught him was to learn all you can and do your research. For her constant support and backup research in the nick of time “Thanks Mom!” – Lucas
My next shout out goes out to several ladies to whom I have gotten to know and love over the years. The amazingly talented and beautiful women from our belly dance troupe. These ladies are fierce and inspirational! I love how we all constantly are supporting one another and just wanted to thank you all for being beautiful people I will always call my sisters!
Finally, I decided to choose the timeless leading lady; Audrey Hepburn. Anyone who has ever met me knows that I am quite obsessed with this amazing woman. Not only was she a fantastic actress but she was also a good person. I always follow her quote “As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself, the other for helping others.”
