
What you will need:
- 1 tablespoon of chopped garlic
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
- 10-12 chopped basil leaves
- 2 large cans of 28 oz. crushed tomatoes
- ½ can of water
- Salt and pepper
- 2 cups of heavy cream
Lets Get Cooking!
In a large saucepan add 3 tablespoons of olive oil. Saute the garlic and basil leaves for 5 minutes or until fragrant.
Once your kitchen smells delicious, add crushed tomatoes, water and a pinch of salt until boiling.
Once it is boiling, reduce the heat and allow mixture to simmer for 15 minutes.
Slowly add the cream and some salt and pepper.
Finally, add 1-2 lbs of Penne pasta.
Plate and Enjoy! If you want to further your taste journey you can try adding chicken or shrimp to this dish!
Most recipes with curries or sauces have the sauces prepared first, before putting the main course into it.
Making your own tomato paste does save on ketchup.
How about adding cheese – it would become something more delightful – in a way.
