Let’s get real, no one is perfect and not everyday can be fantastic. So, in order to help with this unfortunate issue here are our favorite ways to unwind after a stressful day.
- Working Out
It’s no secret that working out releases endorphins making you feel more relaxed, stronger, and just all around better about yourself. So why not have some positive you time. Pump up that music and work it! And don’t sweat it if you are a slow runner, unable to lift heavy weights, or need long breaks in between! We all start somewhere! Make today your day one and remember; just doing that makes you stronger today than yesterday!
- Relax while you Read
If you are anything like me, there is nothing better than cuddling up with a good book! I find that when I read I completely zone into whatever I am reading. This makes reading my perfect escape from whatever I was facing that day! Whether you read fairy tales, biographies or my favorite, thrillers you will find yourself more relaxed as you read on. And if you are a new reader, just know, just because you yawn while reading doesn’t mean it’s boring, you could just be super relaxed.
- Playing Video Games
Sometimes when people get stressed they find themselves angry and that’s ok…. Well as long as you don’t hurt anyone. And yes, that includes yourself! So next time you are stressed instead of hitting a wall or yelling at your friend, try playing a video game. Find your calling, are you good at shooting games? Strategy games? I find that I like street racing games!
- Watching Youtube Videos
If you are reading this, congrats! You are already on the internet and can go to YouTube for funny cat videos, music videos and well… almost anything you can think of! When Lucas and I get stressed we like to buy our favorite ice cream (Dark Chocolate Strawberry!) and watch videos from our favorite TV Hosts like Jimmy Fallon, James Corden and Ellen! Now let’s be honest… you know those days you come home so stressed you need a good cry? When I get like that my favorite clips to watch are; Ellen’s clips of people getting rewarded for doing good things, and military personnel surprising their families.
- Planning Adventures
Sometimes when you’re stressed all you want to do it run away, we get it! So why not make a bucket list of places to go! Whenever you get stressed research one of those places as if you are going next month! That way by the time you do get to go, whether it is a month, year or decade, you are already prepared!
- Cooking Together
As a couple there is nothing more rewarding than cooking together, literally. Once you are less stressed from the actual cooking, you get to eat! Home cooked meals always hit the spot, especially when you need it!
We hope this helped, and remember you are amazing! Let us know below how you unwind after a rough day!
