6 Ways to Make your Morning go Smoothly

If you are like me, getting up in the morning is a real struggle! But when you have a full time job, sleeping in is not an option! So here are my steps to becoming a morning person for beginner:

  1. Write a To-Do List the Night Before

It’s no surprise that in order to achieve a goal you have to have a plan. So in order to wake up in a productive mood, try writing a small achievable “To Do” List for you to cross off as you go! For me I normally start with something small like “Water the Plants,” “Check Emails” or even “Make the Bed”!

  1. Go To Bed Early

This step was one of the hardest for me because I have always been more productive at night. The only problem was that I would always stay up too late and then end up waking up tired! I try to get to bed between 8 and 9:30pm. This way I get all of my work done AND get as close to 8 hours of sleep as I can.

  1. Seize the Snacks

We have all been told that eating before bed is bad for our health but this isn’t just because it can cause weight gain! Snacking before bed forces your body to digest making it hard for your body to relax enough to fall asleep and stay asleep.

  1. Try a Diffuser

We purchased a oil diffuser at Marshalls and have loved it ever since! This only takes a few drops of oil that comes in several different flavors such as lavender, mint and eucalyptus. You can use aromatherapy to fall asleep easier by calming your mind and body.

  1.  Try Turning Down the Heat

Most people shower in the morning. If you are one of them try changing the steam shower into a cooler rain. I’m not saying you have to make it freezing but a few degrees cooler can make a HUGE difference in your mood! The cool water wakes you up gently, and keeps your skin healthier by closing your pores and makes your hair shinier. Who wouldn’t be excited for the day after that!

  1. Eat a Healthy Breakfast

It’s no secret that a healthy lifestyle creates a healthy chain. When you eat good you look good, when you look good you feel good, when you feel good you eat good. So if all these other steps fail, try just starting the day with a healthy breakfast. Your body will thank you and your mind will have more fuel to keep going!
