I let Twitter Plan my Day

I finally had a day off from work! Normally, I would go for a walk or explore a new outdoor venue, but unfortunately it rained all day. So I figured I would ask my friends on twitter about what I should do to make myself feel better about the rain. Well, the votes are in and Home Spa Day certainly took the cake!

To start off my spa day I needed a good night’s sleep, if you guys are interested in my process for getting a good rest and waking up productive check out our steps to becoming a morning person!

6 WAYS TO MAKE YOUR MORNING GO SMOOTHLY

Once I woke up refreshed I ate my favorite breakfast of banana slices with peanut butter, Greek yogurt with blueberries and toast on bakery fresh Italian bread with apricot jam. Once I was full and ready for the day my first stop in my spa day was nails!

When I take care of my nails I normally start by removing any excess polish and dirt on and under my nails. Once I am done with that I put on a good show (I have been getting really into Changing Faces on Netflix). I take olive oil and put a thin layer over the nail itself and a thicker layer over each cuticle. I then put a thin layer over the parts of my palm that get the roughest. Once the layers are applied on one hand I take a rubber glove and put it on to prevent getting the oil everywhere, then I simply repeat the steps on the other hand. I leave this mixture on for generally 10-15 minutes and once done I simply wash my hands with a gentle hand wash or dove bar for sensitive skin. Now that my nails and hands are smooth it’s time to multitask; next stop, my feet and face!

For my feet I normally get a huge bowl or small portable tub and fill it with 1 cup of hot water, ¼ cup of listerine, ¼ cup of vinegar, ½ cup of epsom salt and a few drops of my lavender essential oil. I let my feet soak in there for about 20 minutes. I will eventually go more in depth on this blog about this and my nail routine but on my day off this is what I got.

For my face I decided to try a new face mask! I purchased from Target the Que Bella Papaya peel-off face mask (boy that’s a mouthful). This mask is specifically for skin brightening and I have to say it did its job! First of all I like that it’s not a paper mask because some sections of my face gets more irritated than others. With the gel I get to decide where it goes and how much is going there. I kept this mask on for 20 minutes and it smelt amazing the entire time! I am very into aromatherapy which you can find out in my “How to Relieve and Prevent Migraines” and “6 Ways to Make your Morning go Smoothly” posts. This was a huge plus in my book! Once I peeled off the mask, which is so satisfying am I the only one who enjoys this part let me know in the comments! Anyway, once the mask was peeled off I felt my skin was tighter and brighter than usual. Now here’s the best part; it was like that the next day too! Once I finished with the face mask I put my under eye moisturizer on and relaxed with a good book. I am currently reading ‘Lost Boy’ by Christina Henry.
