Ok maybe I am just going insane but how amazing are avocados? Am I right? They do countless things for our bodies including; stabilizing our blood sugar levels, boosts the immune system and improves your cardiovascular system! No Wonder they are considered a superfood! I admit I am fairly new into the avocado game, but avocado toast is a must have in my weekly diet!
Avocado toast is the perfect healthy snack to eat during your day because it not only benefits your body systems but it keeps you fuller longer, giving you more time and energy to get everything you need done! I am constantly on the move whether it be in the office going from patient to patient, or running to the gym to train my clients, or coming home to work on the blog! So I don’t have time to make a ton of meals a day, and unhealthy snacking is just not an option! That’s why Avocado toast is the perfect pick me up to get me through the day so without further ado, here is the simple recipe!
You Will Need:
- Two Slices of Bread (I normally use French Peasant bread because the slices are larger).
- 1 Avocado
- 4-8 Red Cherry Tomatoes
- Salt and Pepper
- Fresh Basil (Optional)
First things first, you need to make the toast! Put some bread in the oven, toaster, toaster oven (haha) anything that you have! Once done, put this on a plate and lets prep those avocados!
Next, remove the avocado from its skin, put it in a small bowl and mash it up until it is easily spreadable! Once ready, spread this on your toast, sprinkle a little salt and pepper on it for extra flavor!
Then, chop some cherry tomatoes into thin slices, I normally chop mine in thirds or fourths. Add this to your toast, make it pretty, stack it up, whatever you want to do! Make it your own!
Finally, add a little fresh basil (not shown in picture) to top it off! And Viola! The perfect and easy healthy snack!
